Between stimulus and response.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. —Viktor Frankl

While you can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve your current challenges. Therapy will help you unearth behavior patterns or negative perceptions that hold you back. You will learn to achieve balance, heal past wounds, enrich relationships, identify maladaptive patterns, and improve interpersonal skills. This journey of self-exploration will lead to a more fulfilling life, one in which you can overcome hurts that prevent you from living life to the fullest.

I am an empathetic, authentic, and non-judgmental therapist that believes therapy is a collaborative process in which we establish mutually agreed-upon goals. I work hard to establish a safe, honest, and trustworthy environment and value each individual's journey and experiences. You will find me to be very open and upfront, yet, I am easy to talk to and dedicated to your well-being.

A standard therapy session is 50 minutes.  As part of our work together, we will decide how long and how often to meet.  Duration and frequency may vary depending on the nature of your problem and individual needs.

insurance

I am no longer in-network with any insurance company and am considered an ‘out-of-network’ provider.

If you wish to use insurance, I can provide a receipt (called a “super bill”) for you to seek reimbursement from your insurance company if you have “Out-of-Network Benefits” for outpatient mental health services.  I will be glad to file claims on your behalf as a courtesy to you. In this case, your insurance company will reimburse you for the amount they're responsible for. Note that some insurers do not allow us to file claims for patients, however. In this case, we will provide you with the paperwork you'll need to file claims.

Please contact your insurance company directly to inquire about your benefits.  It may be helpful for you to ask:

  • Do I have to meet a deductible before I can be reimbursed? If so what is that amount?

  • What is the rate of reimbursement (% of the fee that will be covered)?

  • How long will it take for me to receive my reimbursement after I submit my receipt?

  • Where do I need to send my receipts?

  • Do my benefits cover online counseling?
